QTL mapping of spike fertility index in bread wheat

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Spike fertility index (SF) is a trait easily measured at maturity and strongly associated with the number of grains per unit area. In order to identify genomic regions involved in SF control, biparental (Baguette 10 × Klein Chaja) population 80 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) was used. Seven field trails were conducted determine BLUP value RIL. RILs genotyped using commercial chip (Axiom® 35K SNP Wheat Breeder's Array, Affimetrix). A linkage map constructed 857 markers, QTL mapping performed. The narrow-sense heritability 0.89. Three (QTL) found on chromosomes 2D, 4A, 7A. proportion genetic variation explained by these three 32%, no significant epistatic interaction between QTL.

QTL mapping of multiple disease resistance traits in a synthetic hexaploid x bread wheat population

The most cost effective and environmentally safe means by which wheat diseases can be controlled is through the use of genetic resistance in commercially grown cultivars. The identification and genetic characterisation of new sources of disease resistance and their transfer to the adapted genetic backgrounds is of great importance for breeding for disease resistance. The development of molecula...

QTL Analysis and Nested Association Mapping for Adult Plant Resistance to Powdery Mildew in Two Bread Wheat Populations

CIMMYT wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines Francolin#1 and Quaiu#3 displayed effective and stable adult plant resistance (APR) to Chinese Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici isolates in the field. To elucidate their genetic basis of resistance, two recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations of their crosses with Avocet, the susceptible parent, were phenotyped in Zhengzhou and Shangqiu in the 2014-20...

QTL mapping for nine drought-responsive agronomic traits in bread wheat under irrigated and rain-fed environments

In bread wheat, QTL interval mapping was conducted for nine important drought responsive agronomic traits. For this purpose, a doubled haploid (DH) mapping population derived from Kukri/Excalibur was grown over three years at four separate locations in India, both under irrigated and rain-fed environments. Single locus analysis using composite interval mapping (CIM) allowed detection of 98 QTL,...

QTL Characterization of Fusarium Head Blight Resistance in CIMMYT Bread Wheat Line Soru#1

Fusarium head blight (FHB) resistant line Soru#1 was hybridized with the German cultivar Naxos to generate 131 recombinant inbred lines for QTL mapping. The population was phenotyped for FHB and associated traits in spray inoculated experiments in El Batán (Mexico), spawn inoculated experiments in Ås (Norway) and point inoculated experiments in Nanjing (China), with two field trials at each loc...

Valuations of Variables as Selection Index for Improving Grain Yield in Bread Wheat

Identifying selection indices is the most important step of a breeding project that aims to improve grain yield. The definition of the selection index is usually done by evaluating the variables in multivariate statistical methods. In the present study, the relationship between grain yield and its components in bread wheat genotypes was determined by multivariate statistical methods. The experi...
